Bored at work?

Post by Leif »

Are you bored at work?
  • Kill a few hours by cleaning out those old light fittings, vacuuming behind the filing cabinets and the inside of radiators.
  • Collect all the (dead) flies you find and carefully brush off the dust
  • Get some clean sheets of paper, sharpen your pencil, and let your imagination flow!

You have no idea how appropriate this is!

I arrived at work around 8:40 today but then only minutes after I had logged on to the network something serious happened and the whole thing stopped. It only came back to life just after 11:00. I didn't quite spend the morning twiddling my thumbs but I do have a very tidy desk now.

Please don't give my cat any more ideas - he leaves enough dead flies around here as it is, most in compromising positions.... :catty:
When one cat leaves, another mysteriously shows up.

Our landlord at the office just circulated the new "cleaning" schedule which limits janitorial service to Mondays, Wednesday & Fridays, and announces that dusting will be done quarterly, and the tile (i.e. bathroom) floors mopped biannually. I suspect I'll soon have lots of flies available for art projects ... to be followed by a move to more congenial quarters as soon as the lease expires.

Biannually? You've gotta be kidding, right? No, I bet you're not... Wow, that's a sad state of hygienic affairs!

I only wish I were kidding. We noticed that garbage wasn't getting emptied nightly a week or so ago and complained, and this morning received the memo outlining the new "services."

The good news is that I just checked the lease and it has already expired. We're now on a month-to-month tenancy, so once the boss decides on replacement quarters, we're free to leave.

Which proves the point that cost cutting is rarely good for business. When will these "decision makers" ever learn?
