A couple of independently made non-profit films that may be of interest to Lord of the Rings fans. Both films are prequels to Lord of the Rings and were shot in the UK on shoestring budgets. The Hunt for Gollum had a budget of £3000, and Born of Hope a budget of £25,000. This is slightly less than the £200-million that is cost to make Lord of the Rings
In spite of the shoestring budgets, the films have received wide-spread critical acclaim.
The Hunt for Gollum is about 39 minutes long and details events that happened around the time of the start of the Fellowship of the Ring.
Born of Hope is set in the time before the War of the Ring and tells the story of the Dúnedain, the Rangers of the North. It centres around the story of Arathorn and Gilraen, the parents of Aragorn. This film is about 71 minutes long.

Re: For LOTR fans
Thanks! The first minutes of 'The hunt for Gollum' look promising - hard to believe it cost just £3000!
Best wishes,
