Maybe on May 19th, we all should hum the "Happy Birthday" tune and see if Big Al recognizes it?

Aw sheesh, don't do that, Skitterbug. I just got through telling an old HS classmate of mine that it's "only" the 37th anniversary of my 37th birthday, so I don't make a big deal about it, like ol' Jack Benny. :flee:

Al! I remember back in the late '40's early '50's (as a child I hasten to add!!) listening to radio shows on the BBC staring Bebe Daniels and Ben Lyon - Bebe Daniels (who I think was an American who gravitated over to this side of the pond) refused to admit to being older than 32 throughout her career, if I remember correctly! So you're not the only one to apply calculus to the age equation!!!

Keith

Not exactly your starting lines, but possibly KINGSTON TRIO - HOME FROM THE HILL LYRICS?

My "humming" isn't the greatest but it is heartfelt!

Thanks for the kindness, Skitterbug and Hans!

Sorry to Bob for the disruption, but if you can't HUM it I don't think we're ever gonna find it.

I can't imagine this onerunning through your head, but since you're a sailor.....

Or could it be the theme song for the Star Trek movie "Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home" ??

Doc posted the same link as Don Wells in an earlier reply (on page 1 of this thread), but the site appears to be down at the moment.

This is turning out to be one of the great mysteries of the modern world!
IS there a way to make and post an audio clip on the Lounge?

Not directly, but if you have a .mp3 file or similar, you can zip it and attach the .zip file.
Best wishes,
Hans

No luck there, no .mp3 file. If I did, I probably wouldn't have had to have started this thread?

Bob! Have you looked at Audacity?

It's free. It has the ability to record and to edit and to create audio files. Plug a microphone into your computer port and hum, speak or (in my case, shuddder!) even sing. Save the file and bob's your uncle.

Hans! Why not make mp3 files suitable for posting here? You can limit their size (I think- not that familiar with phpBB; you can do it in SMF) and you could even make the ability to post dependent on a certain number of prior posts to protect against those vermin who would abuse the ability.

Just a thought.
