Agreed, but I couldn't see the poll thing to leave my vote

Lucky you, Chris - looks like most of us don't know who you are. So rest assured if they don't know you, your head is safe.

I think this is a very unfair method of polling and want to see if we can have Alternative Voting introduced into the Lounge :flee: :confused3: :liar:

I dunno about AV voting - reallocated votes? So in the above example, then the 1 vote for "head examined" would be reallocated between "head" and "examined". Since you can't split the vote in half, how would one reallocate? Toss of a coin? If the "head examined" was just thrown out (as happens here in our primaries) but there isn't another general election where we're given the opportunity to vote against the jerk that won the primary, then what happens to this lowly vote?

Great idea, Jezza.
Why not institute a poll?

Thanks for the wake-up call garbsmj; I'd been staring at this post for days wondering why no-one was taking part - the results just showed empty, zero, nada, zilch.
Then I woke up this morning and realized that the ban on disseminating results before the polling was finished had ended.
Also that I don't see any results even in "my own poll" until I vote.
Duh.

OK, quick question: What's 5% of 42?

5% of 42 is obviously 2 - it says so in your screenshot!
Best wishes,

I'll have to text Garbette on that one - they're the math whiz.

Well *I* knew that; I am, after all, a mathematician.
I just wanted to know if garbsmj knew.
Obviously not (G&DR!)

actually I know what 42/5 is but since 42 is the answer to everything, I dare not do this calculation for fear the dolphins will rise up and say "thanks for all the fish", causing the destruction of the earth. So maybe I should get my head examined? :bananas:

... but that will do you no good. If you want to calculate 5% you need to know 42/20, which is advanced mathematics.
For some of us (grin)

Reminds me of a great cartoon I saw in Punch (I think) many years ago.

Dad is sitting in his chair, worried look on his face, reading a "Report Card"
His son, just arrived home from school says "I got 5% for arithmetic, Dad. Is that bad?"
.

I've got one.
We are all poll-happy up here in Toronto, The City That Sunshine Forgot. It's just that it's raining so miserably that my boss won't let me go outside to play.

To make it easier for you and for people like you, I bumped the options up to 10 - the maximum allowable.
That, coupled with the ability to re-vote means that people who like to vote can continue to vote with fewer polls!.
You never thought of that, did you, smarty-pants (grin!)

Just wait until the Polling Forum opens up.
THEN we'll see some real action.
