Keep Your Eyes Open

Post by Bigaldoc »

Everyone, keep watching the Lounge "door!" We'll soon welcome our 100th New Lounger!

98 present and accounted for, and counting...

(PS Yeah, I know, a few of that 100 are not living, breathing bodies, but what the heck...)

How did you find out that I am a zombie?

You'll never convince me that Fluffy and Fang aren't real -- I'm eagerly awaiting their first posts (while hoping that they aren't directed at me :flee: ).

Just my recollection that Hans, Leif, Mike, et. al. have additional usernames as regular members or Mods/VIPs that they need for testing stuff. For example, Hans has used Dopje for a long time as his "regular member" username. When I was a Mod in the other place, I used "Billie" as my regular user so I could refresh my memory of what a regular member can see and do.

We're at 99 and counting folks!

Keep watching the door...

Before we went live on the 23rd/24th of January (depending on your time zone), there were 16 users, for 7 unique persons: the six current admins and Mike's wife LadyWolf. We created a user named Eileen as a tribute and also to prevent others from registering under that name. The other 8 are test users.
Best wishes,
Hans

Exactly. The "member number" isn't as prominent here as in other places, but I've noticed "my number" in links to my profile and in cookies etc; then of course, in the same links in the member list. So, I early wondered what you did to the 52 members between Mike and Claude; did you scare them off.

No, I guessed that there had been some test accounts that perhaps could explain some of the discrepancy.

:fanfare: Welcome Michelle!

They are 'Bot' members - pre-built in to the software forum.

From the Admin Control Panel:
“Bots”, “spiders” or “crawlers” are automated agents most commonly used by search engines to update their databases. Since they rarely make proper use of sessions they can distort visitor counts, increase load and sometimes fail to index sites correctly. Here you can define a special type of user to overcome these problems.
But we're not using them

Hmmmm. If they are an 'enable member', I would expect them to show up on the member list.

All I can say is, "I dunno".

Ahhh, Michelle came through the door AFTER I had gone "night-night" so I missed that.

Welcome to Eileen's Lounge, Michelle! We hope you like visiting with us and come back often!
