On their Facebook page, the folks at Firefox were campaigning for votes in a public opinion survey about web browsers. I took a screenshot of the results but since it's not statistically significant and is a moving number, I'll let YOU decide if you want to see the results so far:

Re: Browser Opinion Survey
Interesting, but only 98 votes for Internet Explorer? I'm surprised at that.

Re: Browser Opinion Survey
It would be interesting if they contrasted the votes cast with the actual browsers in use by visitors.

Re: Browser Opinion Survey
More about Firefox, so I'll just add it here. The folks at Firefox have posted an ad from the NY Times about the initial release of Fx 1.0, in 2004. I have to take their word for it but it just seems to me that I've been a user since before 2004. No way I can check since I only keep two versions of software on hand.
PS I did start using Fx when it was in beta but I don't think that period of time was all that long. How time files!

If you'll recall Al, the Firefox project was renamed from Firebird, which was renamed from Phoenix. So, although Firefox was 1.0 in 2004, it was around before, but by a different name.

No, I didn't remember that, Christopher, but that's nothing new for me! Maybe I did start using when it was called something else. I only remember that at the time I first heard about it, I was working at KET and heard from a fellow employee that I should dump Netscape. That time period was somewhere between 1992 and 1997 (I think!).StoneChucker wrote:If you'll recall Al, the Firefox project was renamed from Firebird, which was renamed from Phoenix.
