Horse Head?

Post by Graeme »

This is what you get if you capture the famous Horse Head Nebula in narrow band glowing gas photons of Hydrogen α and Sulphur II only.

But is it a horse head or a girl with a pony tail? 😀

As I woke up this morning I thought I saw that horse on the Telly screen. I wasn’t sure if it was the Tail, ( or Head ), end of a dream or I had caught a glimpse of one of the old tellies I use as a second computer monitor.

But then it popped up again on the news channel I have running on the background. https://www.n-tv.de/wissen/Der-spektaku ... 15380.html

It look very realistic, in this pic from that report, I think I can see the body quite clearly as well.

I seriously don’t ever try to annoy. Maybe I am just the kid that missed being told about the King’s new magic suit, :(

That looks like the horse head image captured by the ESA Euclid Mission. Euclid is a space telescope orbiting the Earth Sun Lagrange Point L2, capturing a 3D map of the universe in visible and near infra red light in an attempt to more fully understand dark matter and dark energy.

Edit: I just clicked your link Alan. Looks like you already had the image provenance nailed!
