The tulips will be out by August, I hope...
They are coming out whether they bloom or not!
(Especially if they do not come up by themselves)
Q: When do tulips bloom in The Netherlands?
A: Year-round.
Cheers, Chris

Year-round? They are still very much a seasonal feature here, late March to early May.
Best wishes,
Hans

I thought you meant in gardens. But even those nurtured in glass houses aren't available all your round - only from late December until May.
Best wishes,
Hans

So is "volcano" just another synonym for "parsnips"?
Thanks, Chris

A bit late to the party here, but the annual tulip festival is now in full bloom in Ottawa. Over one million tulips planted around town this year.

I commend the Ottawa gardeners on their ability to plant in such a regular fashion as to have such a display. It is quite nice.

Yabbut, Ottawa get tons (literally) of tulip bulbs each year from the Nice People in The Netherlands. Every year! :clapping:
The Dutch Royal family are invited to contact me via www.landfallgardenhouse.com. I will not sell their email. Nor give it away.
Cheers, Chris
P.S. If they are interested, the 'plane could ferry back a few cubic yards of my compost from last year ...

If I use enough jelly, yes!
("Jelly" is the Australian abbreviation for "gelignite")

P.S. Jack Murray or 'Gelignite' Jack drove through Southern Cross while I was tucked tight in bed on a schoolday night. My parents wouldn't let me wander down to the Great Eastern Highway to watch his car scream through town. I, of course, was thinking that he threw out several sticks of gelignite in each town at 2 a.m. C.

Speaking of growing:-
Diary_20230517_123940.jpg
I might write a poem tonight before I go to sleep.
I wondered, lonely, as a cloud
Floated on high and blocked the sun
When all at once, sans legs and brain
I got an urge to 'scape the rain
And chase with haste the passing sun
And take myself to where it will.
Alas! I'm but a daffodil.

It still needs a bit of work.
"Christopher can do better!" comes to mind.
Cheers, Chris
