I've pretty well worked out why strawberries dropped in milk go from top to bottom, but this hang-up of left-to-right seems to invite psychological examination.

I would think it's fairly obvious. We ( English speaking people ) read from left to right. Also, there seem to be a preponderance of right handed camera men, who like to shoot slow-mo pictures.
