Giant sculpture

Post by HansV »

A 25 meters high steel sculpture has been constructed near Lelystad in The Netherlands.

It's called "Exposure", but the local population has already given it a different name... :innocent:

See Antony Gormley's New Giant Figure on the Dyke in the Netherlands for some background information, and News | Had Fab for more pictures (Had Fab is the company that constructed the strructure; they normally build pylons for power lines)

I'd like to see that close up - judging by the figure on the left, it looks a bit windy there though!

:whisper: I wonder how much that cost the good people of the Netherlands?

The sculpture cost one and a half million euros (about one and a quarter million pounds sterling), most of which was donated by private enterprise.

At first glance it almost resembled a regular here at the lounge, can you guess who?
And is he working part time in modeling?

I saw a similar (probably not as big) one at Antibes on the French Riviera. From a distance it looked like a freak cloud formation. Still looked pretty surreal up close.

That one is called "Nomade" and it's a man of letters - literally:

See for example Nomade
