It's from a British newspaper (a Mexican would have been in Spanish, presumably)

The article was about Sonora, Mexico - it could have been in any newspaper anywhere.

And the ad was probably placed there by Google, not by the publication.

Why Aussie?

Hans has suggested it came from a British newspaper; The Star is Malaysian. I could have taken a similar clip from a few other newspapers by the look.

But none of them Aussie. Or Mexican.
