Covid tiers explained.

Post by silverback »

Here's a cut out easy guide to the impending UK system of Covid tiers.

Tier 1 : Pints.

Tier 2 : Pints and chips.

Tier 3 : No pints.

Note: ensure thick chips or potato wedges - thin French fries don't count as a 'substantial meal'...

I am unable to comment on this thread because if I do I'll end up banned for breaching the Lounge rules.

I thought it should be TEARS, we started with Coronavirus, then it went to Covid 19, now it's just plain old Covid.
It could also be a spelling Pandemic?
If it wasn't for bad luck I'd have NO luck at all.

I had to look up what the tier system was all about. Having looked it up, I still don't quite understand.

It's like the wedding. It was so emotional that even the cake was in tiers.

Coronavirus is just a generic term for the type of virus responsible for a number of diseases.

Covid-19 is the specific name for the virus causing the pandemic.

Covid is just a commonly used abbreviation for Covid-19.

Very useful indeed!
I followed the links and here found something simply wonderful: "There is no limit on the time allowed for exercise outdoors or, for example, for sitting on a park bench or eating and drinking outside."

This means that I can continue to sit in my back-yard, in my Muskoka Chair, waiting for my pork steak to barbecue itself, drinking home-bottled ginger beer, and watching my two toy trains travel around in ovals outside the zucchini patch, and all that will count as exercise! My Doctor will be thrilled.
What a deal!

An understandable misunderstanding.

That's not quite right, see here:
    https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/types.html
'Coronavirus' is the name of a group of viruses, one of which is called 'SARS-CoV-2' that causes the disease 'COVID-19'.
