Well of course, what else would you expect when I live in God's Own County?

Indeed, but it's not too shabby down my way in Kent either!

I know. My wife grew up about 30 miles west of your neck of the woods so family trips to her mother were a regular summer holiday thing.

The vale of York is well know for thick fog at this time of the year.

What time of year do you get the shallow but continuous layer of white cloud over the fields and roads a few metres above their surfaces? Always fascinating to look down on them from a slightly elevated position.

Anytime! Though more likely from late Oct to April.

I had reason to drive to Malton this morning and there were some lovely misty scenes to be enjoyed despite the solid grey sky. Didn't have my camera with me though so you'll just have to imagine the top of a wooded hill sticking up out of a layer of fog.
