Educashun in the US

Post by John Gray »

If you have to make a typo, make it a BIG ONE!

Must be a popular error then since one like that has been floating aroung the web for a long time.

Spelling mistake means it's back to 'shcool' for road worker | Mail Online        (2007)

Odds are the crew doing the work was Hispanic and don't read or write very well. If they had a non-Hispanic supervisor, I'd bet that he was in the shade by the water cooler.

That word seems to be very difficult for some to spell. ????
That same word and one other ( can't recall what it was ) was also misspelled and reported on that same day, on a signboard for a private SCHOOL. One on each side of the board!
I also remember posting a clip showing a street intersection that said: SOTP!

Don't overestimate the literacy of US educated folks. Today I'm invited to a "Manditory Managers Meeting." One of our company lawyers cannot spell "Addendum."

A couple of different ways, but usually Addendam.

EDIT: I should explain that this is when the word is used as part of the file name; spell checker corrects the document text.

Speaking of spelling correctly, can you tell us if the Manditory Managers Meeting was mandatory?

I'll let you know, it's in 37 minutes from the time I post this. (I believe that is the intent.)

EDIT: The usual waste of time where the real problems aren't being addressed. No job cuts. (There should be a few position replacements IMO, but that won't happen either.)
