Re: Fo9r those who miss Good Cricket
I love good catches, but both these are the same? Are you trying to catch us out?

Or this one in a Lancs v Yorks match.
BTW Bob H isn't an oxymoron calling a rugby match (with heavy protective clothing) football?

Especially when you spend the whole time holding or throwing a football, as opposed to ever kicking it.steveh wrote:BTW Bob H isn't an oxymoron calling a rugby match (with heavy protective clothing) football?

:shame: I just couldn't help myself.
Y'all are correct about American football. I'm no fan of the game preferring Australian rules football and rugby over it by far. Even soccer is a much better game.

Not really.Rudi wrote:I love good catches, but both these are the same? Are you trying to catch us out?
I think my first match was for "Greg Marsh" (which would greatly annoy "Rod Chappell"), but I found the clip i wanted to see.
Then I did a correct search for Rod Marsh and got the same clip.
I wanted to watch the slow-motion twice, so I made two links.

P.S. The only "non-stop" trip from Toronto to CapeTown involves flying first to JFK. I think that travel agents are a very strange breed ...

This article comes with pictures, and IMNSHO is marred only by the repeated use of the exact same phrase "the exact same amount of runs".

I prefer this explanation
Except that it doesn't mention that when one team is in until it's out, then the other team is also in until it's out, that's an innings.

Isn't cricket sort of like watching paint dry?

Re: For those who miss Good Cricket
I agree. I had not realized how much thinking went into a professional game of cricket until (1980) I was asked - by my Canadian wife - to explain what was going on.
What I had previously seen as long boring placement of fielders disappeared after we watched the bowler hand wave a fielder " ... no, a bit more to your left, bit more, now back, back, back, hold it there!".
Bowled.
Batsman snicked the ball directly into the fielder's hands!
Cheers
