I was a lot cuter, but I don't think I swam underwater as a baby...
Best wishes,

Re: Were you ever this cute?
These pictures are gorgeous!
When my now 25 year old daughter was about 6 months old, we enrolled her in baby swimming classes - mostly to see if this would alleviate the fear of water that my older child had.
It was very interesting to watch - we were instructed to gently blow in baby's face (which caused the baby to sharply inhale) and then dunk her underwater and let her go. As the mum, I had a bit of a hard time with that part so I had to give that chore over to my braver husband. But amazingly, she just floated around for a few seconds before being brought to the surface and wasn't the least bit upset.
I can't say the end result is that she became an olympic swimmer, but she never showed any fear of water during future swimming lessons.

My Apologies.
I got a bit fuddled over lunch and confused the leaver-of-breadcrumbs with croutons.
There's no knead to get crusty ....

I agree. I also feel that they represent, perhaps, only 1% of the photos taken - they will be the creme de la creme, so to speak.Deb G. wrote:These pictures are gorgeous!
None the less, my interest in all creatures as survivors, by definition, is heightened by the dramatic shots.
To quote Richard Dawkins: "All organisms that have ever lived - every animal and plant, all bacteria and all fungi, every creeping thing, and all readers of these words - can look back at their ancestors and make the following proud claim: Not a single one of our ancestors died in infancy.", and these photos help to back up that statement in a dramatic fashion.
