What bird are you?

Post by johbot »

Nice easy little test at http://www.animalinyou.com/test.php

I'm an owl, according to that. I think I like it!

Not just birds - I'm a bat (and I'm not sure I like that...)
Best wishes,

Hans,

You are right. I wasn't paying enough attention. The fact that I turned out to be a bird blinded me to the bigger picture. I should make my own bird brained joke before Chris does!

I'm a porcupine, apparently. I'm not sure I like that, and I could swear that it isn't a species of bird anyway.

The site says "the animal in you" - it's not limited to birds.

Yes I know. I'm only gently poking fun at Johanna.

There's a couple of words in my "writeup" that I don't care for, but I guess it's OK. (Maybe it's cuz I stay pretty close to home.)

If we keep going, we'll be through the whole animal kingdom!

Here's what the site decided for me:

Anyone for a blast of Porcupine Tree?

I'm a penguin, too.
Aggressive yet gentle, outgoing but shy, stable yet flighty - everyone sees the penguin in a different way. It's that black and white thing: the penguin only reveals the side that it wants to you to see. So whether you like this darling-devil or not, you have to concede that it's a fascinating and enigmatic individual.

...Penguins are poetic, artistic, and intellectually gifted, and as writers penguins have no equal.

Penguins are deceptively intelligent and are particularly animated when intellectually challenged. They excel at word games and puzzles but are modest about their abilities and are generally underestimated by others.

With their misunderstood personality, penguins find writing an ideal tool for expressing their true feelings.
Ah, but I might also be a beaver or an owl.

goo goo gajoob

Me too!

But I don't fit the description provided very well at all.

My entire career was one of managing very tight schedules with deadlines not to be missed, for example.

I've been meaning to ask you! I've tried to enter the coordinates in your signature, knowing I don't know much about Google Maps. Do you live here?

I think you haven't converted degrees and minutes to decimal degrees correctly. I make it somewhere near here (31.1N 97.35W).

Very good, Stuart. Teach me - how did you know to do whatever you did, based on his sig?

The syntax 31° 6' N - 97° 21' W should be read as 31 degrees and 6 minutes North, 97 degrees and 21 minutes West. I learned this at school many years ago. I also remembered that there are 60 minutes in a degree from school geography lessons.

6 minutes is 6/60 degrees = 0.1 of a degree
21 minutes is 21/60 = 0.35 degrees
