In reference to this post about the RAND() function in Word.
NEWSFLASH
Be very careful about using the function in Word 2010. It does not insert the useful 9 sentences into a document referring to some changes/improvements in Word 2007, but in 2010, when using =RAND() in a blank page, it dumps the entire OFFICE HELP DIRECTORY. It creates several hundred pages of content that can cause lower end PC's to freeze up, and cause work to be lost.

I think that only works if you have Exchange Server installed.John Gray wrote:Rudi - Did you try =DOLLAR() or =POUND() ?

Re: =RAND() in Word 2010 freezes PC
Leif is right...I got error messages on my PC complaining that the Exchange Server was not up and running and that I'll have to make installments into some Swiss account before the DOLLAR() or POUND() functions would work. I'll have to make do with the CENTS() function for now as this only dumps about 1/4 of the help files and does not freeze my PC.John Gray wrote:Rudi - Did you try =DOLLAR() or =POUND() ?
Thanks for the advice John and a perfect answer Leif!!
