A Spammer's Society ???

Post by Bigaldoc »

This post is intended in humor because of the nature of what I'm about to say.

I sometimes wonder if there is some kind of society or organization that spammers belong to in order to coordinate what they foist upon us! Or, maybe the majority of it comes from one or two sources, I don't know and ain't gonna waste time checking.

The only reason I wonder is that here in the recent months, the vast majority of the spam that my MailWasher catches is for some kind of "medicine" purchase, discount, no prescription and so on.

The humor, where I'm concerned, is that a whole BUNCH of that junk is for one particular drug that's the last thing in the world that a guy in my situation could ever possibly want or need! If I were still a "warrior" and had the G2 of knowing where they are, I might be tempted to run a S&D mission...

I don't know how it works, but spam does appear to come in waves. One day, I'll get several mails offering fake Rolex watches, then next day, it's medicine with 70% off, and after that, online casinos...
Best wishes,
Hans

Maybe they have "patterned" attacks then (Europe, USA, etc.), 'cause I haven't had any watch offers for a long time! :flee:

Its amazing that hair shampoo has not jumped onto the SPAM wagon. Every 2nd ad on TV nowadays is about hair shampoo. :hairout:
You'd figure they'd have joined the society already!

Well, I have been hired by at least 10 companies every day. Who wants to go back to work when I am retired.
I need to get my 8 foot blackberry plants as they are about to be sold out. By the way Blackberries grow wild here is the Seattle area and sometimes are worst that weeds.

There are several other great products and services that I need. This morning I had over 70 of them in my "Junk folder". :flee:

Edit
Just got 5 of them from PetCareRx, and we do not have pets.

Going back to Al's original thought, about a society for spammers. I'd love to be fly on the wall at one of their meetings, what would they talk about..? Would it be a formal affair, with an agenda, chairman, secretary and official minutes, apologies for absence etc..?

You can come out here and get all the plants you want. :clapping: :fanfare:
But remember that they will NOT grow in a lot of places.

Right now I have them more less under control, but there is a patch about 2 blocks away that the County is having to use HEAVY equipment on it to just control it. Last summer it was over 25 feet high and even the normal "berry pickers" stayed away from it.

One would think this Washington Post columnist, Robert McCartney, would know better than to "click here," but his account of searching for the source of a rogue "virus" program shows the difficulties in finding, as he puts it, "cyberjustice":

Hmmm, I see you don't seem to get any of the, er, "medication" spam that is mostly what I get! I guess it's 'cause you live on the West Coast!

While not quite as far West as Dave, I certainly still get more than my share of the "medication" spam. And most of the offerings are useless to me, since I'm missing the relevant parts.

I, or my ISP, must be doing something right, because I haven't had a single spam email for weeks.
