Reason: to display description instead of VERY long URL.

Re: Terabits explained
Excellent example, but this is definitely a case for using a URL shortener, if ever there was one. The super-long url stretches my screen out so that I have to scroll sideways to reach the links on the right side of the page.
http://bit.ly/94Yfsr" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; or even terabits explained would solve that problem.

Re: Terabits explained
After a bit of experimenting, I see that the extra long URL is only a problem in the Rainbow Pearl & Aero Black skins. I'll keep that in mind for future navigation, and temporarily switch to something that's designed to keep the posts corralled into a single screen width.

It causes horizontal scrolling in subsilver2 as well.Samantha wrote:...I see that the extra long URL is only a problem in the Rainbow Pearl & Aero Black skins...

OK, one can switch to another skin, but I agree that it'd be better to use the description syntax. I'll edit Dengar's post.
Best wishes,
Hans

Re: Terabits explained
My apologies. I was well aware of the length, but my preview showed no indication the URL would present a problem.HansV wrote:OK, one can switch to another skin, but I agree that it'd be better to use the description syntax. I'll edit Dengar's post.
I also need instruction on using the URL shortener.

Hans gave a description above, and you can get a quick reminder (immediately below the row of buttons) by hovering your mouse over the URL icon button: The second example gives you 'alternative' text instead of showing the full URL.DenGar wrote:I also need instruction on using the URL shortener.
