This is the first of a series of photo riddles. Each picture highlights a detail of a famous landmark in a major city.
Your task is to guess the name of the city and the landmark. Reward: one for the first one to name the city, one for first one to name the landmark. They shouldn't be too hard (I hope).
Here goes number 1:

Hey Jude, you're the first one to guess #3 correctly, so for you! Well done, you were also correct on the first two.

Re: Landmarks #1
Looks like you've got eleven of us stumped with #4, Hans! I was late to the thread so I missed answering any of the first three. I thought I knew this one but when I went to check out my theory, I can't verify what I was gonna say, so I think I'll be quiet.

Re: Landmarks #1
#4 is less obvious than the previous three. I'll wait a bit longer, but if nobody gets it, I'll post another picture of the same landmark.
Best wishes,
Hans

I see that nobody has correctly named #3 yet.
But I can't identify the roof with the triangular slates.

Re: Landmarks #1
Stuart, you're correct about the official name of #3, although almost everyone knows it by the more popular but technically incorrect name mentioned earlier. You can have a too.
Best wishes,
Hans

Re: Landmarks #1
I shall remember the "technical" name now for sure looking around for #4 because it strikes a "tread" but can't quite pull it up yet.HansV wrote:Stuart, you're correct about the official name of #3, although almost everyone knows it by the more popular but technically incorrect name mentioned earlier. I give up on that one without another photo. I thot it was a tire or wheel at first.

Perhaps #4 is too difficult. Does this make it easier?
