Cat names

Post by Rudi »

Can you work out the pet names of the 10 cats are in the Morse code below...
The tricky thing about the code is that spaces between the letters have been removed so it is not so easy to distinguish what the letters might be.
The actual Morse code is provided to assist.

Here are some hints that I think are needed to help solve this....

1. F appears three times
2. 2 Vowels in this name – i and e
3. Uncommon letters are – k, w and h
4. Four letter name
5. This one has 2 vowels and ends with an x
6. You should be able to work this one out without tips
7. 2 b’s in this name
8. 7 letters with a double letter
9. This name contains the famous SOS
10. 7 Letter name, the middle three letters is a singular dot or dash

Rudi

I'd love to tackle this puzzle, but the small screen of my phone makes it impracticable

Stuart: All answers are correct. Very well done!

Bob: Great attempt, but your dots and dashes do not match the dot and dash pattern in #4. Give it another go.

Our cat is named Pussy ... a neutered male! Not of my doing I hasten to add
Every time we have to attend the vet they always ask "How is she". He's gonna get a complex sometime soon and then its a case of more expense ... psychologist bookings

Rudi,

Can you please double check the pattern of dots and dashes in #4. I really can't see how this one is possible.

Hi Stuart,

It is 100% accurate for a four letter name.
A hint that will help to resolve this is:

Traditionally, Spot is a dog's name, but I'd not hesitate to call this cat Spot... (or even Patches).
