Identify Images, Groups and Odd One Out

Post by Rudi »

Hi,

The image consists of 6 items; 3 items belong to a specific type of group, 2 items belong to a specific group, 1 item is a random odd one out.

Questions:
1. Can you identify the odd one out
2. Can you identify the the two specific groups
3. Can you identify the 6 individual items

Spoiler
#2 looks like an old-fashioned radio to me.
#3 like the mouthpiece of a saxophone
#4 like a toaster
I have no idea whatsoever about the other three.
Best wishes,
Hans

Hans you did very well actually. You have two correct.
I'm not going to identify which ones as there are still grouping to be made, and an odd one out...

Good going so far!

Rudi

I don't know about others, but I'll need either pictures revealing a bit more of the objects, or some hints. I currently don't have a clue...

One of your groupings is 100% correct. :thumbup:
The other group ID is wrong.

Between Hans's and Leif's replies and the new tile, I think things might become clearer now...

Spoiler
I agree with Leif's grouping of 2, 3 and 5 as musical instruments:
2 = accordion or similar
3 = saxophone
5 = (electric?) guitar, or some other stringed instrument

I still think that 4 is a toaster.

Are 1 and 6 cameras?
Best wishes,
Hans

Good progress...
Spoiler
Group 1 (3 items) is identified: Musical Instruments (Welcome Leif and Hans)
2 = accordion
3 = saxophone
5 = guitar

Item 4 is a toaster
What remains to be identified:
-- What is the groups name that contains 2 similar items?
-- What are those two items?
-- Is the toaster in the group or is it the odd one out?

1 and 6 are not cameras.

Rudi

Sorry Leif. It is not.

Hint:

What comes out of food mixers I'd love in my tummy. What comes out of #1 I would never want in my tummy!

I like the concept of this puzzle, but #1 and #6 were too difficult in my humble opinion. But then, I don't encounter pistols in my daily life...

TX for the comment. :smile:
I haven't posted a puzzle in a long time and I was playing around with some ideas of a new puzzle. This concept of identifying pictures and the added level of grouping them was a moment of enlightenment... This was essentially a trial run. Maybe in my next one I'll consider the images and the groupings a bit more closely.

To show what a difference one's environment makes, I found identifying 1 and 6 as pistols almost obvious when I first saw them a minute or 2 ago. I identified the toaster after a bit, but did not get the musical instruments until the images were enlarged a bit.

FWIW: I own and shoot many types of firearms, preferring semi-automatic pistols.

Interesting comment Bob. It's all in the eye of the beholder. Your mind sees/recognizes what is familiar to it.
