ID the connection and the odd one out

Post by Rudi »

What have ALL these entrants got in common?
:fire: HOT TIP: The common factor is a word in a song title they sing

Neil Sedaka - his a sad guy
Tina Turner - she talks to it
B.J. Thomas - always trying to stop it
The four seasons - obviously does not own a hat
Fats Domino - has an attitude problem or a phobia
Randy Crawford - saying it three times is enough
The Everly Brothers - this event makes them quite jolly
Ronnie Hilton - doesn't like to run

Then; based on the answer you provide, which entry (from the above list) is the odd one out...and why?

Wow...I did not even see that one! (In a sense you are right about the odd one out), but not the right answer!

OK...just to clarify. The above list are people or groups, not a piece of music as Hans has duly noted!

Nope. (Good try though!)

Here is another tip:
It's got to do with a song that they sing!

Now...if you can get the names of the songs (about rain) that these artists sang, then you can identify which is the ODD one out!
Great progress guys!!!

Spoiler
Fats Domino appears to be the only one who didn't have a major hit with 'rain' in the title.

Hans, that was one of two  answers I was going to accept.

The answers revealed...
Spoiler
1. The titles of all the listed people/groups above all had a song with the word "RAIN" in it.
2a. Hans got the first of two possible accepted answers...Fatso Domino's "I can't stand the rain" was not a major hit
2b. The second possible accepted answer...All the songs have rain, except The four seasons "Raindrops - keep falling on my head"

The song list:
Neil - Crying in the rain
Tina - Tell it to the rain
B.J. - Don't let the rain come down
The four seasons - Raindrops keep falling on my head
Fats Domino - I can't stand the rain
Randy - Rain, rain, rain
The Everly's - Laughter in the rain
Ronnie - Just walkin' in the rain
Cheers to all who attempted and answered this puzzle.

Rudi
