Hi, folks.
I have a coworker shopping for a laptop for her daughter's use in college.
The question that has come up is What is better: Intel Pentium T4400 or AMD Turion II?
Anybody have any advice, please?

Re: Laptop Processors
The AMD Turion II comes in several flavors (M500, M520, ...), some of which are slightly slower than the Intel T4400, others slightly faster, but the differences aren't huge, so I'd say it doesn't really matter.
Best wishes,
Hans

Re: Laptop Processors
Thanks, Hans.
After work I did a little more checking and saw some reports saying the AMD is faster and (a lot) cheaper, but it runs a lot hotter.
One person said it was "keyboard-meltingly hot!"

Re: Laptop Processors
That sounds like the AMD is less suitable for a laptop.Cellmate wrote:One person said it was "keyboard-meltingly hot!"

Re: Laptop Processors
That was the consensus at work. (Helped also that it was $80.00 less, too!)
