I wonder if it's worth shelling out CAD 31.99 for a utility of which most components have free alternatives such as CCleaner.

I am very sceptical of tune up utilities in general and paritcularly those who charge money. Generally when they charge money some rather dubious claims are made about performance benefits. Anything these tools can do can be done with a free program or with a builtin Windows utility.
