Welcome back! I don't think there's anything new with respect to Windows Live Essentials. The components I didn't want haven't come back to haunt me...

Well I braved it and guess what? I still use Vista and up popped a screen asking me if I just wished to update the WLE programmes that I currently use And guess what? That's what I did So it seems that I have avoided all the 'junk' that I have no interest in using.
But of course dear old MS tries so hard to get me into all these fancy Facebook's etc on my Hotmail and I try so hard to click out all the stuff that I simply do not want to waste my time on AND I don't have hundreds of friends of friends of friends ... Grr
