This is not really other application but you folks are all so resourceful....

I am looking for a good (free) source of sound effects... for example, the "Ka-Ching" sound of a cash register as well as other various sound effects.

Any suggestions?

There are many websites offering free sound effects for download, for example A1 Free Sound Effects. A Google search will turn up more.
You'll find a cash register sound for example in Free sound effects - download free sound files.

I've collected "sound files" for years and have a bunch of them posted on my web domain at: Files to Download.

They are ZIP files, so I would hope you have a broadband connection if you choose to download them. Lots to look at and sample.
