Post by steveh »

does anybody know of a free, or reasonably proced piece of software that could produce diagrams as per the example below?

Sketchup but as with all apps there is a learning curve but not a steep one, IME.

I normally go to AlternativeTo.Net to search for good alternative apps for known programs. The ones that I normally recommend as free alternatives to Visio are yEd and Dia, both very good (and free) alternative diagramming apps, but you'd have to experiment with these in regards to your more 3-D looking sketch. I'm not sure how much options these provide in 3-D capacity.

Hi Rudi

Thanks for the suggestions, DIA has apparently gone out of development but I have downloaded Yed which looks like a robust alternative to Visio
