How to Reduce the FastStone Viewer Screen

Post by BobH »

Can anyone tell me how to reduce the size of the screen displayed by FastStone Viewer? I cannot seem to find the usual commands to close-to-taskbar/minimize/maximize the screen size. Do they not exist in FastStone Viewer?

Normally, the Faststone Image Viewer window has minimize, maximize/restore and close buttons.

However, if you switch to full screen, you'll see a borderless window. Press Esc to return to standard view.

Does that help?

Thank, Hans!

When I open an image I get the borderless window. Pressing ESC closes the program. If I right click, I get a set of menus that doesn't contain any means to return to normal view nor to change the size of display.

Perhaps I have not installed it correctly. I'll work on reinstalling in a bit.

Thanks, again!

Is Faststone Image Viewer your default viewer for image files?

It was. To get around the problem for now, I switched back to Windows picture viewer.

I you go back to FastStone Image Viewer:
- Double-click a picture file from Windows Explorer
- Press Enter to toggle between the application window and the full screen viewer.

If you'd rather not open images in full screen view:
- Press F12 to activate the Settings dialog.
- In the Viewer tab, select 'Browser View' from the 'Associated image launches in' dropdown.
- Click OK.
