Convert jpg to pencil sketch

Post by viking33 »

A while back, Hans had posted a picture of his hometown, Leiden.
December.JPG
Here it is converted to a pencil sketch/drawing.

I like the pencil drawing! It must have taken a long time to create it...

When you edit your post, you'll see that the picture (December.jpg) has been added twice and the sketch (December sketch.jpg) once:

Click 'Delete file' for the second 'December.jpg', then click Submit.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Great! That worked fine until the next time I forget how to edit one out.
That sketch came from a freebie program called "Sketch Drawer," out of Giveaway of the Day.

Normally I don't like 'photo converted to pencil sketch' but perhaps that's because they are never done well. This one though is good, except for the ghosting around the top of the lamp post in the foreground. Or is that just my eyes?

I noticed the ghost shadow too. Otherwise, it's amazingly well done.

So just a little bit of work in Faststone/Irfanview/your favourite image editor and then it would look good framed and on a wall.
