Shadow Protect Event

Post by Bigaldoc »

Many here will know that I am one of our Lounge members who uses Shadow Protect daily. I run a full backup on Sunday and incrementals the other six days. I have two physical drives and the second (D: and H:) contains my Vista and Windows 7 installations. I backup to two alternating USB drive of 500 gig capacity.

Shadow Protect has, in these past few years, only failed a few times. This morning I saw that the C: drive had done its incremental fine but D: and H: had failures. Hmmm...

I did some read and write testing to the two partitions AND the USB and all seemed well. So, I did what all computer users are "trained" to do - I rebooted and told Shadow Protect to try again on the D: and H: which it successfully did. The only mistake I made was, in the retry screen you get to select incremental or full and I chose full by mistake. Well, I can live with that.

One never know, do one?

(Today is a BASKETBALL day for me, all day and evening! University of Kentucky plays its first game this evening!!! Go Cats !!!)
