Free Backup & Recovery Software

Post by Gloria E »

Has anyone heard of or used a Backup & Recovery (free edition) by Paragon Software Group? I learned about it by reading the Cloudeight InfoAve Newsletter.

http://www.paragon-software.com:80/home/db-express/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Can't beat the price and it's supposed to easy for novice users to use. :free:

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive & well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, red wine in the other, body thoroughly used up. Totally worn out & screaming "Wow, Wee What a ride!

Thanks DenGar and curious,
I reviewed the links Google supplied and even went further and I could not find any reviews that had anything derogatory about the software.

I'm going to give it a try, the price can't be beat.

After unsuccessully fighting with the boot CD for Acronis TI 10 (the CD produced by the software - I downloaded the software from their website so I don't have the retail CD), I'm also looking for a free backup & recovery program. I've read a few positive reviews of Easeus. Has any of the forum members used this software?
I'm specifically looking to move (clone)the XP partition (C:) on this PC to a larger HDD, and to move the Vista 32Bit Business partition (also C:) on my wife's PC to a larger HDD.

Thanks for any comments/suggestions :cheers: !

So how did you like it Gloria? I have used it for 1+ year and find the backup easy to do. So far had no need to test the recovery part and I hope that this continues this way :hairout:

If you haven't tested the recovery, how can you be sure that the software works ??? :scratch:

I can't but I'm a trusting type :laugh:
Question is how can one 'test' without crashing something? Time to listen to the experts.
Oh, and my question was not answered :grin:

One way to test backup software is to restore it to a spare disk drive and then try booting from that drive.

Or to use virtual software or partitioning software. In either case, create a new drive (partition) and test out the software there.

However, it is you who is regretful, not Gloria! It is regrettable that direct questions are not answered.
