Windows Security

Post by Ted Myers »

Hello, as you see in my image, Windows Security Icon on the Taskbar has a yellow tick but it looks ok when opened. Any idea why?

If you hover the mouse pointer over the yellow mark in the task bar, do you see a popup message?
Best wishes,
Hans

Hello Hans, just got your reply. The yellow tick has vanished. Will keep a lookout for it again.

This is what shows now, on opening it, no actions show action needed.

I've noticed that occasionally there is a timing issue between the notification in the taskbar and the Windows security app. Haven't really tried to diagnose when this happens.

It's probably nothing important, but you might try the following:
- Open Windows Security.
- Click on 'Virus and threat protection'.
- Scroll down if necessary and click on 'Manage ransomware protection'.
- Anything there?
Best wishes,
Hans

Just realised, I am running Win10 21H2 Home and have updated my signature. I did not like Win 11.
