Data recovery

Post by BOOBALAN.V »

Dear community,
My friend lost his all data's when he was trying to change Operating system. He said that he tried some recovery software. But most of the files wich recovered is corrupted. Files are not opening. Please suggest some ideas or software to recover files effectively.

Thanks & Kind Regards,

If he's tried recovery software and it hasn't worked, he may have made matters even worse. He should use his backup...

Hi Boobalan,

Repairing corrupt files is virtually impossible. Try the following:
- Right click a file.
- Select Properties from the context menu.
- If the Properties dialog has a Previous Versions tab, activate it.
- See if there is a version from before the file became corrupted.
Best wishes,
Hans

Before recovering the LOST files Remove the PC Hard drive and plug it back externally to another computer using SATA / USB adapter to perform data recovery and safely recover files. Doing this will ensure that no read/write operation has been performed on the problem device this will protect your files from being overwritten and increase the chances of successful data recovery.

Note: overwritten files can also be recovered depends on the quantity of data you’ve saved after you lost your files, unfortunately you reinstalled the OS on the drive which is really bad and make the situation much more worse, your chance in recovering the data is low, but still there is a chance

Now Before recovering the LOST files, First thing to do is to clone / image the drive / partition by using R-studio recovery software, Then restore the image back onto another good Drive / HDD. You must do this before you take repairing steps, after that try to recover the files from the cloned drive / HDD to avoid any further damage to the original Drive / partition. Also this will help you to recover data from a hard drive with massive uncorrectable bad sectors. Be aware that any information written to a bad sector is usually lost, but sometimes it’s possible to recover data from bad sectors, so if your drive has bad sectors you may receive error message during cloning / imaging operation says it cannot read X sector, this is expected. Just ignore all bad sectors. Obviously if we ignore sectors some of the stuff won’t get copied, which is ok because at this point we are just trying to get anything off the drive.

now just try to recover the files from the cloned Drive, by using R-studio software, i hope this will solve your problem.

I think your friend is going to have to accept that this data has now gone. Hopefully they will do regular backups in future so that it can never happen again.
