Backing up data on a laptop that will not boot into Windows

Post by jmt356 »

My computer is not booting up correctly and I cannot get into Windows.

I would like to do a restore using Acronis True Image, but in so doing, I will lose about 3 months of data.

Is it possible to back up my data using Acronis recovery media without booting into Windows?
Regards,

JMT

What version of TI do you have?
Did you make a TI recovery disk? If so, you can boot to it and run TI from there.
With the 2017 version, you can selectively back up folders or files and put them on a scheduled back up time also.

Do you have the Windows OS system disk?
You should be able to boot to it and do a REPAIR reinstall of Windows, without touching your data files.
