I'm building an Outlook signature block for a client, and I get to specify its operating characteristics (heh heh!)
I get to say that it has to work for replies from Outlook 2010, Thunderbird 3.1.9 (smirk!) and GMail.
I can't find out how to detect what version of the web-based Gmail I am on.
There seems to be no equivalent of "Help, About" for the web-based mail service.
What version of gmail am I using?

I don't know if there even IS a version number assigned to Gmail beyond "Standard" or "HTML." I don't ever recall seeing anything like a Gmail V. xxx on any of the pages or options or an about tab.

I'd guess at Version 2.0, otherwise known as the 'new version'...ChrisGreaves wrote:I can't find out how to detect what version of the web-based Gmail I am on.

Right. New version as opposed to the Old version.Leif wrote:I'd guess at Version 2.0, otherwise known as the 'new version'...ChrisGreaves wrote:I can't find out how to detect what version of the web-based Gmail I am on.
If you see a mention of using "old" version on the Gmail page, then you must have the New version?

Thanks Leif.
That's what I'll use.
I figure that specifying small details like "versions supported" helps a Phase-1 of a project from going off the rails before its time.

It's getting harder and harder as I look for versions nowadays, with or without the clapping!
