What version of gmail am I using?

Post by ChrisGreaves »

I'm building an Outlook signature block for a client, and I get to specify its operating characteristics (heh heh!)
I get to say that it has to work for replies from Outlook 2010, Thunderbird 3.1.9 (smirk!) and GMail.
I can't find out how to detect what version of the web-based Gmail I am on.
There seems to be no equivalent of "Help, About" for the web-based mail service.

I don't know if there even IS a version number assigned to Gmail beyond "Standard" or "HTML." I don't ever recall seeing anything like a Gmail V. xxx on any of the pages or options or an about tab.

I'd guess at Version 2.0, otherwise known as the 'new version'...

Right. New version as opposed to the Old version.
If you see a mention of using "old" version on the Gmail page, then you must have the New version? :clapping:

"3 years after releasing Gmail 2.0"

Thanks Leif.
That's what I'll use.
I figure that specifying small details like "versions supported" helps a Phase-1 of a project from going off the rails before its time.

Thanks Bob.
It's getting harder and harder as I look for versions nowadays, with or without the clapping!
