Contacts Phone Display
Hello, I use Gmail to store my contacts email addresses and phone numbers. Mobile + Landlines are eleven characters long. If I input a landline or mobile number both leading 0's get changed to +44
If it wasn't for bad luck I'd have NO luck at all.

+44 is the international code for the UK, so (assuming you are based in the UK) this change means that your phone book will work while you are roaming to other countries - as well as when you are at home. I have always stored all my numbers in that format

My reading of the original post:
was that Ted may be putting in (e.g.) "0044 1234 567891" and it was being changed to "+44 1234 567891", but I really don't know...

Thanks all, just checked my contacts in my newish smartphone and all looks as I normally see them.
