Contacts Security

Post by Roderunner »

Hi Folks, I use Thunderbird to read and send my Gmail. I have one contact in my address book that I haven't used or been in contact with me by email for at least 1 year.
A few days ago I got a message in the spam folder using the correct name but different address of one of them.
I have not had a pc infection for ages and dont share contacts with anyone.
How did the spammer get the correct name and manage to send it to me????

George.

Possibly they have you in their address book, and they have been compromised. Or a third party has both of you
