I need some help with conceptual blockbusting.
I'm setting up a new to me HP small platform system. It runs Windows 11 but with only 8 GB. I'm having to install all my favorite apps and I'm trying to recreate settings, etc., to use it as I have other computers. I'm having trouble setting up email accounts in Thunderbird, my client of choice.
I have several gmail accounts to set up plus a couple that use Ionos. I have what I believe to be the correct settings for POP3 and SMTP servers for both gmail and Ionos; however, TB fails to set up accounts after having validated those settings. I am using passwords stored in Roboform, although, admittedly they might have become stale as I've used them and perhaps not updated pw changes.
The primary problem is that in trying to update pw's to a new baseline, the Forgot Password options want to send email with links to pw change web pages. With no email accounts set up, that is impossible. I don't have another computer with email set up on it. I did get an SMS text based on my phone number for changing gmail pw's but it didn't work.
I stumbled on this task a few months ago when I had to set up a new computer but I don't remember how I finally resolved it.
Can anyone point me to articles that will help?

Re: Setting Up Thunderbird Accounts
Thanks, Ron. I did post there and await a response.
Fortunately, I was able to breathe life back into my laptop with Hans' help. I was able to get password reset email links on that computer. Once I had baseline passwords, I was able to set up email accounts in Thunderbird on the HP work station system.
