Add a Note to Outlook

I 'm asking if it is possible to add a note to an e-mail in my Inbox. I'm running Ol2003. You see I have received an e-mail with a case number (no name) as a reference and I wish to add the person's name that this case refers to - otherwise I'm likely to forget to whome it it!

You can't really add a note to an e-mail, but you can edit a message that you received. To do so, open the message, then select Actions > Edit Message (Outlook 2007 or before), or click Actions > Edit Message on the Message tab of the ribbon (Outlook 2010). You can then edit the subject, insert some text into the body of the message, or add an attachment.
