Hello. Outlook 2010.
When creating appointments and specifying they should show as Busy or Free, there is very little to distinguish between them in the Calendar
apart from a thin white line on the left of the appointment.
Is there an option anywhere to change the colours for the whole appointment, without asssigning a Category? Andy.

You can use conditional formatting:
- Activate Calendar.
- Activate the View tab of the ribbon.
- Click View Settings.
- Click Conditional Formatting...
- Click Add.
- Specify a name for the rule, for example Away.
- Select a colour.
- Click Condition...
- Activate the Advanced tab.
- Select Field > Frequently-used fields > Show Time As.
- Select equals from the Condition dropdown.
- Select Out of Office from the Value dropdown.
- Click Add to List.
- Click OK.
- You should see something like this:
- Add more rules if desired.
- OK your way out.
- In my example, all "Out of Office" appointments will automatically be coloured:
