The layout you can see in the first attachment shows the calendar, which is inside the red box, which is the Layout To Do Bar.
If I use the People option to edit or add a new contact, my view ends up looking like what can be seen in the second attachment. Notice the third pane, The To Do Bar, is missing.
I can easily reset the view to what I want but am wondering why it changes? Also, if there is anything that can be done to stop that view change, please tell me. Thanks
This is the View I use and want to always be there.Outlook View Changes On Its Own

Re: Outlook View Changes On Its Own
I don't see this problem in my Outlook version. Once you do View -> Layout -> To-Bar = Normal, it "sticks" for that Explorer.
Only workaround I can think of is open the People/Contacts Explorer in a new window. So that when you close it and return to your previous Explorer nothing will have changed.

Re: Outlook View Changes On Its Own
Thanks. I tried that and it appears to work. Not only does my original Outlook window stay as it should, so does the second Outlook window. Thanks very much.Hornblower409 wrote: ↑30 Jan 2025, 19:56I don't see this problem in my Outlook version. Once you do View -> Layout -> To-Bar = Normal, it "sticks" for that Explorer.

Just out of curiosity - Do File -> Options -> Advanced, | Outlook panes |, [To-Do Bar ...]. What are your settings in the "To-Do Bar Options" dialog box?

I must be doing something different from what you're asking, please see attachment. I do not see a "To-Do-Bar" anywhere.Hornblower409 wrote: ↑31 Jan 2025, 02:57Just out of curiosity - Do File -> Options -> Advanced, | Outlook panes |, [To-Do Bar ...]. If I click on the Reading Pane button I get what you see inside the red box: So I am not seeing what you want me to see.
Thanks.

You are in the right place. And you are correct, we do not see the same thing. Sorry. I should have ask what version of Outlook you are on first.

The options for the various panes are on the Ribbon in View | Layout.

Re: Outlook View Changes On Its Own
Thanks Joe. I have always had that set to Calendar. I should have figured that out but I didn't. Thanks again.
