Outlook search

Post by jmt356 »

I have an Outlook entry with the number "2006" in the body and the word "American" in the Full Name field. However, whenever i do a search for American 2006, it never shows up, even though this same combination (part Name, part Body) works for other entries. I even tried matching the case, but it still doesn't work. Why?

When I try something like this, it does work. Occasionally, I have to select "Search all mail items" from the dropdown before Outlook finds the item, but usually it's found as soon as I type the search tems. I'm using Outlook 2007 SP2 on Windows 7.
Best wishes,
Hans

Hans, this is an Outlook contact and I have "Contacts" selected from the drop down menu. Should I have something else selected?

You didn't mention what items you were searching for, so I assumed mail items.
However, it works exactly the same for me when I search for contacts. I don't have to do anything special, I just type in the search box.
Best wishes,
Hans
