Had to change modems (DSL) - first attempt to access outlook 2003, I got a message saying new outlook connector had to be installed - I said OK and it installed.
After that, every time I start Outlook, I get a dialog box saying Outlook can't open file extend.dat - says file may be missing or permission may be needed. I hit OK and everything works fine.
I found the file its in the the user - settings - outlook -- no permission required. Sounds like Outlook's new connector is looking for it somewhere else.
Does anyone know where I should copy it so I don't get the error dialog box?

Re: extend.dat
I "Googled" this issue and found the following from Microsoft:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/823475
I would think it's worth a shot to try what they recommend if the issue is annoying enough to you. Note the note under part 1:

Hope this helps.Note Because you do not use the old .pst file while you are troubleshooting, you will not see any of your old .pst folders or files.
