Word Attachment Icon has Exclamation Point

Post by Sundog »

Using Outlook 2007, I sent a docm Word 2003 compatible document as an attachment to an Outlook 2003 user. In both emails, the document icon showed a script W.

The Outlook 2003 user opened it in Word 2003 and saved it to her Desktop. On her desktop, an exclamation point appeared in the icon.

When she sent it on from her Outlook 2003, attaching it from her Desktop, her email document icon showed a script W (without an exclamation mark).

What is the significance of the Desktop exclamation mark?

Does she use Online Backup, Data Backup & Remote Backup Solutions | Mozy? This software adds an exclamation mark to the icon of files that haven't been backed up.
Best wishes,
Hans

Has she converted it to a Word 97-2003 document? A Word 2007 .docm document has an exclamation mark in its icon, but a Word 2007 .docx and a Word 97-2003 .doc document don't.

Looks like the docm was the culprit. Thanks.
