Mail Merge from a shared email address or shared inbox

Post by BittenApple »

Hello team,

I am going to do a mail merge, but the email from the sender has to go from a shared inbox and from a specific email address. I tested mail merge and it went well, it was sent through outlook 2016, though all the process didn't give me the option to select the sender email address.

How can I select a specific sender for this process?

Regards,
BittenApple

Can you log in to Outlook using the shared inbox?

When I go into my outlook, there is no need to login to my outlook, I just login to my computer every day I go to work and I can go to my outllook, I do have access to that shared inbox and I can see that shared inbox in my outlook on the left panel,
So many thanks for the response,

You can create a new email profile in the Mail (32-bit) control panel, add the shared account to it, and set Outlook to ask you which profile you want to use when it starts.

See Turn Outlook profile prompt on or off

Hans

Hello Hans,
Thanks for the response,

My computer at work is 64. Would that be fine?
Can I add my email address to shared account?

My guess would be that you have 64-bit Windows but 32-bit Office.

The shared account has its own email address, doesn't it? I thought that you wanted that one to be the sender...
Best wishes,
Hans

Yes, correct, my Comp is 64, I don’t know the Microsoft and I want the email address of that shared inbox to be sender email. Also I want to know where start mail merging, from word or from outlook itself? My list is in excel, regards bittenApple

Use the link in one of my replies higher up to create a new email profile and add the shared inbox to it.
Set Outlook to prompt which profile to use.
When you want to perform the mail merge, start Outlook with the new profile.
Start Word, then initiate the mail merge from there, from the Mailings tab of the ribbon.
When you're done, quit Outlook and start it again. You can then select your regular profile (with your own email account).
Best wishes,
Hans
