Hello team,
I need to mail merge 36,000 rows of an Excel sheet.
Would this be possible?

Re: Outlook mail merge
I'd do it in batches.

Re: Outlook mail merge
Hello Rudi,
I just finished reading creating a Mail Merge Document.
This was the link:
https://dtsdocs.usc.edu/creating-a-mail-merge-document/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
It seemed easy and doable to me; but what worries me, is that I have 36,000 rows, I wonder how I can make it happen in batches.

Re: Outlook mail merge
When you click Finish & Merge > Send Email Messages..., you can specify which records you want to send, e.g. 1 to 1000.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
Best wishes,
Hans

Hello Hans,
Thanks for the response,
What quantity in each batch make the mail merge to be completed without errors? 500? 1000?

Re: Outlook mail merge
Depending on your environment, like your PC memory, limits on the exchange server or IMAP, your ISP, etc... this will change from person to person, so that is hard to answer. You will need to test the maximum number yourself by experimenting.
An interesting note in this webpage (see the grey note marked "IMPORTANT" at the top of the article), mentions to use 100.
Sounds quite minimal, but the writer may have had reasons.

Re: Outlook mail merge
I think most ISPs set a limit, to prevent users from sending spam to thousands of recipients at once.
There are professional mailing systems that can send large numbers of email messages at once; it might be worthwhile to look into that. I don't know anything about them, so I have no recommendation.
