Auto Date, how does it Calculate?

Post by BobSullivan »

I searched the list and didn't see anything, so I'm asking...

How does Outlook calculate Auto Date? Is there code someplace? Actually, the reason I'm asking is because I'd like to calculate a project end date by entering a beginning date and then saying 46 days from today or something like that.

Thanks for any help provided.

Do you mean the AutoPick Next feature for scheduling a meeting? That is only available in the Outlook interface, it is not exposed in the VBA object model, i.e. you can't program it.

Or do I misinterpret your question?

Hans

Hello,

Sorry, I've been away for awhile.

No. I meant that when you schedule an appointment in Calendar, in the start date field you can type in "9 weeks from today", or "45 days from tomorrow", or "15 days before Christmas" and Outlook will calculate the date. I was wondering if anyone knew how Outlook does that so that perhaps we could transfer that functionality to some other date field someplace else.

I'm afraid that this functionality is not available in another form, and I haven't been able to find (for example) VBA code that provides it.
Best wishes,
