I recently added an MS Exchange server account to Outlook. The name given to the account in the Outlook tree view is “username@domain.com.” is it possible to customize the name to something other than the email address?
My other email accounts (gmail, another POP account, etc.) are being placed into a PST folder and all of their messages go into a single inbox. However, my new MS Exchange serve account messages all go into their own separate Inbox, Sent Items folders, etc., into a separate .OST folder. Is there a way to combine my MS Exchange account and my other accounts such that they all share the same Inbox and other folders and are saved to the same .PST file?

Go to the Outlook account settings and click on the "More Settings ... " button.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Why do you want to use a MS Exchange server?
Do a Google on "convert pst to ost outlook 2016" without the quotes.

Re: Customize MS Exchange account name & saving messages to
I followed the instructions posted at https://www.slipstick.com/outlook/renam ... look-2013/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for Outlook 2013 and older. However, that changed the name of the account in the list of accounts displayed under File | Account Settings. It did not change the name of the account displayed on the tree view on the left, which remains “username@domain.com.”
Regarding the suggestion to search for "convert pst to ost outlook 2016,” I have Outlook 2010. Does this make a difference? Also, please note I am trying to combine my email account’s .OST file into the .PST file for my POP3 email accounts, not the other way around.
I was given the settings for setting up an MS Exchange server. I am not sure that this specific email provider / server supports POP3/SMTP. My understanding is that email accounts / servers can be set up as either POP3/SMTP or Microsoft Exchange. Does a user have the choice to set up an account as POP3/SMPT or Microsoft Exchange?DaveA wrote:Why do you want to use a MS Exchange server?

I recommend you use MFCMAPI as described in the article.
Be sure to backup the registry information as described.

Re: Customize MS Exchange account name & saving messages to
Thanks. I understand that relates only to changing the name. What about moving my Exchange account (OST) into my POP3/SMTP (PST) accounts? Can they be combined in Outlook? Can an Exchange server account be set up as a POP3/SMTP account?JoeP wrote:I recommend you use MFCMAPI as described in the article.

An Exchange server account can only be setup for POP or IMAP if the Exchange administrator allows it.
